The synthesis of a high-quality biodiesel product derived from Krabok (Irvingia Malayana) seed oil as a new raw material of Thailand

Wuttichai Roschat et al.

Summary: The study focused on producing high-quality biodiesel from Krabok seed oil using liquid biofuel energy in Thailand. The optimal extraction method was Soxhlet extraction, and the biodiesel product met the standards for liquid bio-auto fuels, with properties similar to petroleum diesel oil. Krabok seed oil is considered an efficient, quality raw material for biodiesel production.

Direct production of biodiesel from crude Euphorbia lathyris L. Oil catalyzed by multifunctional mesoporous composite materials

Hu Pan et al.

Summary: Efficient transformation of cheap non-edible oil into biodiesel is achieved by a novel composite material ZP-P[SIH]-2, which combines sulfonic acid functionalized poly(ionic liquid) and zirconium phosphonate. ZP-P[SIH]-2 demonstrates high catalytic activity with multi-purpose functionalities, uniform dispersion of acid and base sites, and excellent hydrophobicity and wettability for reaction substrates. The catalytic reaction exhibits low activation energy, follows a pseudo-first order model, and is endothermic, showcasing its potential for practical applications in biodiesel production.

Corrected response surface methodology for microalgae towards optimized ammonia nitrogen removal: A case of rare earth mining tailings wastewater in Southern Jiangxi, China

Liming Yang et al.

Summary: This study used a corrected response surface methodology to optimize the operation strategy for treating rare earth elements wastewater using microalgae. By investigating the effects of temperature, illumination intensity, and microalgae concentration, nine models were obtained and then modified based on initial ammonia nitrogen concentrations. The results demonstrate that optimizing microalgae dosage can effectively treat wastewater.
