Privacy, Secrecy, and Storage With Nested Randomized Polar Subcode Constructions

Onur Guenlue et al.

Summary: This paper discusses a set of security and privacy problems that can be solved using codes under reliability and storage constraints, focusing on the secret-key agreement problem. The authors propose a random nested PSC construction that enhances the security of keys under limited storage resources. The experiments demonstrate that nested PSCs significantly improve the secret-key to storage rate ratio compared to other code constructions.

Polar Coded Repetition for Low-Capacity Channels

Fariba Abbasi et al.

Summary: The paper proposes a novel mechanism called polar coded repetition, which concatenates outer polar codes with inner repetition codes for improved achievable rate on binary erasure channels (BEC). It shows how modifying the polar codeword can enhance the asymptotic achievable rate while maintaining the overall encoding and decoding complexity.

Codes approaching the Shannon limit with polynomial complexity per information bit

Ilya Dumer et al.

Summary: The study examines simple LDPC codes for channels with extreme noise, which improve the output quality for any SNR above -6 dB and have a floor on the error rate. It also introduces a combined scheme using polar codes to achieve a vanishing BER at any SNR above -1.59 dB.

Hybrid Non-Binary Repeated Polar Codes For Low-SNR Regime

Fariba Abbasi et al.

Summary: In this paper, a novel concatenation mechanism is proposed for ultra-low-power devices, utilizing a hybrid polar code as outer code and a non-binary multiplicative repetition code as inner code for applications operating at very low signal-to-noise ratio. The proposed scheme outperforms traditional binary polar-repetition schemes with a negligible increase in decoding complexity.
