Comparison of impact accelerations between injury-resistant and recently injured recreational runners

Aoife Burke et al.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the loading magnitude and rate at the tibia and sacrum among runners with different injury statuses. The results showed that recently injured runners had significantly higher rate of loading at the sacrum compared to never injured and injury resistance runners. Additionally, females had higher loading magnitude and rate at the tibia and sacrum than males.

Treadmill and Running Speed Effects on Acceleration Impacts: Curved Non-Motorized Treadmill vs. Conventional Motorized Treadmill

Alberto Encarnacion-Martinez et al.

Summary: The study found that running on the curved non-motorized treadmill led to lower impact accelerations compared to running on a motorized treadmill, along with reductions in head acceleration rate, tibia peak, and tibia magnitude. Additionally, higher heart rate and rating of perceived effort were observed while running on the curved non-motorized treadmill.
