Aqueous phase reforming of biodiesel byproduct glycerol over mesoporous Ni-Cu/CeO2 for renewable hydrogen production

Kai Wu et al.

Summary: This study successfully synthesized a Ni-Cu bimetallic catalyst supported on CeO2, which can effectively increase the H-2 production rate and inhibit methane formation in aqueous phase reforming. Furthermore, the addition of CaO can reduce the activation energy, improve the water-gas shift reaction, and decrease methane production.

An Overview of Hydrogen Production: Current Status, Potential, and Challenges

Muhammad Younas et al.

Summary: Hydrogen as an energy carrier can provide a long term solution to sustainable and environmentally friendly fuel supply, but it must come from renewable sources to be truly considered a clean fuel. Electrolysis, contributing 4% of the world's energy demand, still faces challenges due to its high energy consumption. Plasmolysis has been suggested as a competitive alternative with lower power consumption and cost.

Suitable site selection for offshore wind farms in Turkey's seas: GIS-MCDM based approach

Mustafa Serdar Genc et al.

Summary: Offshore wind energy resources have not been fully exploited, but through GIS and MCDM guidance, comprehensive feasibility assessments have been conducted, with data acquisition using EMODnet to determine suitable areas for offshore wind farms in the coastal region of Turkey. By identifying potential sites based on criteria, the most suitable region was determined to be the Marmara Sea, indicating potential growth of offshore wind farms in Turkey with the necessary support mechanisms and legislation in place.
