Ferulic Acid and Salicylic Acid Foliar Treatments Reduce Short-Term Salt Stress in Chinese Cabbage by Increasing Phenolic Compounds Accumulation and Photosynthetic Performance

Ida Linic et al.

Summary: Salinity stress causes disturbances in physiological, biochemical, and metabolic processes in plants, but the exogenous application of natural metabolites like salicylic acid and ferulic acid can reduce the adverse effects on crops. During the study, it was found that ferulic acid had a better ameliorative effect on salt stress compared to salicylic acid, increasing antioxidant activities and improving photosynthetic performance.
