Activation and Evasion of RLR Signaling by DNA Virus Infection

Junli Jia et al.

Summary: The antiviral innate immune response triggered by nucleic acid recognition plays a crucial role in controlling viral infections. While research on the RNA virus infection and the role of RIG-I-like receptors (RLRs) is extensive, less is known about RLRs' role in DNA virus infection, which is gaining more attention. This review discusses the progress in ligand recognition of RLRs during DNA virus infection and the mechanisms through which viruses evade host immune responses.

Antiviral Function of NKEF against VHSV in Rainbow Trout

Veronica Chico et al.

Summary: NKEF, an antioxidant protein, has been found to inhibit VHSV replication in rainbow trout red blood cells but not in cell lines. Silencing of the nkef gene led to increased VHSV replication and decreased expression of genes related to the IFN1 pathway. Overexpression of NKEF reduced VHSV infectivity, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target against viral infections.

The molecular mechanism of RIG-I activation and signaling*

Daniel Thoresen et al.

Summary: The article discusses specific activation of the RIG-I receptor by viral RNA and strategies for inactivation in the presence of host RNA, as well as the experimental evidence and evolutionary implications of RIG-I signaling. The researchers conclude by outlining the need for future cell biology and immunological investigations.
