Remove of ammoniacal nitrogen wastewater by ultrasound/Mg/Al2O3/O3

Chaohui Xue et al.

Summary: This paper successfully degraded ammoniacal nitrogen wastewater using the system of ultrasound/Mg/Al2O3/ozone, determining the optimal reaction conditions. The combination of ultrasonic technology and ozone oxidation technology enhances ozone mass transfer and generates a large amount of HO center dot, improving catalytic activity. Ultrasound also promotes the cleavage of N-H bonds on the catalyst surface, facilitating the degradation of ammoniacal nitrogen.

Process intensification of the ozone-liquid mass transfer in ultrasonic cavitation-rotational flow interaction coupled-field: Optimization and application

Huan Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the intensification of ozone mass transfer in rotational flow field and UC-RF coupled-field. The liquid flow rate and ultrasonic power were optimized to improve the ozone mass transfer efficiency. Results showed that the mass transfer coefficient increased with the liquid flow rate and ultrasonic power. The highest mass transfer coefficient was obtained with the UC-RF coupled-field. The rotational flow field and UC-RF coupled-field enhanced the mass transfer efficiency by increasing ozone-liquid contact area, turbulence, interface renewal, and residence time.

Catalytic ozonation of an azo-dye using a natural aluminosilicate

N. Inchaurrondo et al.

Summary: The catalytic ozonation of Orange II using sulfuric acid modified aluminosilicate Montanit300 (MS) and hydrochloric acid modified Montanit300 (MH) showed high activity, with MH exhibiting better catalytic performance. The increased activity of MS and M under acidic conditions was attributed to manganese leaching. Additionally, MH displayed greater hydrophobicity, allowing for mild activity even under neutral conditions.
