The relationship between LNG price, LNG revenue, non-LNG revenue and government spending in China: An empirical analysis based on the ARDL and SVAR model

Yuanyuan Hao

Summary: This paper examines the dynamic relationship between liquefied natural gas (LNG) price, LNG revenue, non-LNG revenue, and government spending in China. The results suggest a positive influence relationship between LNG price, LNG revenue, non-LNG revenue, and government spending. Furthermore, the study shows that there is a long-term fiscal synchronization hypothesis between LNG revenue and government spending, as well as a long-term spend-tax hypothesis between government spending and non-LNG revenue. Additionally, it is found that there is a complementary relationship between LNG revenue and non-LNG revenue, with the complementary role being stronger than the substitution role.

Are economic complexity and eco-innovation mutually exclusive to control energy demand and environmental quality in E7 and G7 countries?

Buhari Dogan et al.

Summary: The objective of this study is to examine the major drivers of energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions in the context of G7 and E7 countries. It found that eco-innovation is effective in reducing energy use intensity and controlling carbon emissions in G7 countries, but harmful in E7 countries. Ngo Thai Hung et al.

Summary: This study examines the dynamic relationship between financial development, economic growth, globalization, and carbon dioxide emissions in Vietnam from 1990 to 2020 using quantile-on-quantile regression. The findings reveal that there is a positive feedback link between globalization and carbon dioxide emissions at the middle and high quantiles. Additionally, there is a negative nexus between financial development and carbon emissions at most quantiles, while CO2 emissions and economic growth have a positive association at all quantiles. The study also identifies bidirectional causality between financial development, economic growth, globalization, and carbon dioxide emissions in Vietnam at different quantile levels. These empirical results provide valuable insights for policymakers in Vietnam to address environmental issues and achieve sustainable economic growth.
