Electrochemical degradation of hydrolyzed polyacrylamide by a novel La-In co-doped PbO2 electrode: Electrode characterization, influencing factors and degradation pathway

Dongyue Feng et al.

Summary: In this study, a new type of La-In-PbO2 electrode was prepared through electrodeposition and applied for the degradation of high concentration HPAM solution. The La-In-PbO2 electrode exhibited smaller grain size, denser surface, and larger active surface area compared to other electrodes. It also showed excellent electrochemical performance, with higher oxidation peak current and lower charge transfer resistance. The La-In-PbO2 electrode effectively degraded HPAM solution under certain conditions.

Improving Oil Recovery of the Heterogeneous Low Permeability Reservoirs by Combination of Polymer Hydrolysis Polyacrylamide and Two Highly Biosurfactant-Producing Bacteria

Shuwen Xue et al.

Summary: This study investigates the combined application of polymer hydrolysis polyacrylamide and bacteria in enhancing oil recovery in low permeability reservoirs. The results show that the mixture of polymer hydrolysis polyacrylamide and bacteria at an optimal ratio can significantly improve oil recovery. The stability of the mixture under different temperature and salinity conditions is also observed. The findings suggest that the strategy of polymer addition followed by microbial flooding is beneficial for improving oil recovery in heterogeneous low permeability reservoirs.
