Plumeria alba (white frangipani) leaf powder as a biomass-based adsorbent for removal of methylene blue in water

Jahnabi Deka et al.

Summary: This study focused on the adsorption of cationic dye, methylene blue, onto Plumeria alba leaf powder from aqueous solution. The effects of various factors on the adsorption process were investigated, and the adsorption capacity, isotherm models, and kinetics were determined. The results suggest that Plumeria alba leaf powder could be a promising bioadsorbent for the removal of cationic dyes like methylene blue from wastewater.

Influence of the alkyl chain length of surfactant on adsorption process: A case study

Hadi Shayesteh et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of alkyl chain length of surfactant on the adsorption process behavior by modifying mineral pumice with different surfactants. It was found that an extended surfactant chain increased the adsorption capacity, with the Langmuir isotherm model showing the best fit to the experimental data. The results suggest that hydrophobic interactions of the modifiers play a role in the adsorption processes.

Study on methylene blue adsorption of activated carbon made from Moringa oleifera leaf

Tra Huong Do et al.

Summary: Activated carbon prepared from Moringa oleifera leaf by NaOH activation (ACB) was effectively used for removing methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solution. The optimal adsorption conditions for MB were pH 7 and adsorbent dosage of 1.67 g/L, with a static adsorption equilibrium time of 90 min. The adsorption process on ACB followed Langmuir, Tempkin, and Freundlich isothermal absorption models, with a maximum adsorption capacity for MB of q(max) = 136.99 mg/g.
