Ensemble models of GLM, FDA, MARS, and RF for flood and erosion susceptibility mapping: a priority assessment of sub-basins

Amirhosein Mosavi et al.

Summary: This study proposes novel predictive models for flood and erosion susceptibility mapping in mountainous watersheds. The study also prioritizes the existing sub-basins based on their susceptibility to erosion and flood. A comparative analysis of different models and their ensemble is performed to determine the best model for predicting susceptibility. The results show that the ensemble model has the highest predictive performance and the sub-basins SW3 and SW5 are identified as highly sensitive to flood and soil erosion, respectively.

Incorporating multi-criteria decision-making and fuzzy-value functions for flood susceptibility assessment

Ali Azareh et al.

Summary: This study developed an integrated framework for flood susceptibility assessment in the Haraz watershed in Iran, using data to select flood-influencing indices and employing DEMATEL, ANP, and FVF methods for evaluation. The results indicated that sub-watershed C1 was highly susceptible to flooding and in need of flood management.

Assessment of the soil loss-prone zones using the USLE model in northeastern Iran

Majid Ebrahimi et al.

Summary: This research aimed to evaluate soil loss-prone zones and key factors affecting them in a suburb agricultural area in northeastern Iran. Using the universal soil loss equation model, it was found that about 9.36% of the study area is under high and severe erosion-prone zones, with a significant relationship between high/severe soil losses and xerolls sub-order.

Analysis of the Impact of Land Use Changes on Soil Erosion Intensity and Sediment Yield Using the IntErO Model in the Talar Watershed of Iran

Maziar Mohammadi et al.

Summary: Land use change is a significant factor affecting soil erosion and sediment production processes. A study in the Talar watershed in northern Iran from 1991-2014 using the IntErO erosion model showed an increase in non-forest land use, leading to higher outflow and sediment yield, highlighting the importance of proper land management and planning to mitigate these effects.
