An improved time-frequency analysis method for structural instantaneous frequency identification based on generalized S-transform and synchroextracting transform

Ping-Ping Yuan et al.

Summary: This paper proposes an improved time-frequency analysis method for accurate identification of structural instantaneous frequency. A new transform method is introduced by optimizing the window function and combining it with a synchroextracting transform. The performance of the proposed method is significantly improved in numerical signals, even in the presence of noise. The effectiveness of the method is verified using different simulation and experimental data.

Simulation of the Dynamic Behavior of a Centenary Metallic Bridge under Metro Traffic Actions Based on Advanced Interaction Models

D. Ribeiro et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the dynamic behavior of a centenary steel arch bridge in Portugal under light railway traffic loads. Finite element models were used to analyze the influence of factors such as response assessment methods, response reference point location, train speed, and vehicle configuration on the dynamic response of the bridge-train system. Results show that traffic safety and passenger comfort were within normative limits, but pedestrian comfort was compromised when the train speed exceeded 20km/h.

Research on the Seam Formation Mechanism of Elliptical Bipolar Linear Directional Blasting Based on the SPH-FEM Coupling Method

Bo Wu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the dynamic failure process between adjacent boreholes under an elliptical bipolar linear charge structure using the SPH-FEM coupling algorithm numerical simulation method. The best blasting results are achieved when the distance between adjacent holes is 110 cm. The superiority of elliptical bipolar linear blasting in engineering blasting was verified through field experiments.

A redesigned approach to the additional damping method in the dynamic analysis of simply supported railway bridges

Bernhard Glatz et al.

Summary: The choice of vehicle models in the dynamic analysis of simply supported railway bridges directly affects the quality of computed results. While simple moving load models tend to overestimate bridge responses, models considering vehicle-bridge interaction effects give more accurate results. The Eurocode allows for additional structural damping in analyses with moving load models, but careful consideration is needed to ensure conservative results.
