Products distribution and hazardous elements migration during pyrolysis of oily sludge from the oil refining process

Gan Wan et al.

Summary: In this study, oily sludge was pyrolyzed at various temperatures to investigate the product distribution and migration of hazardous compounds. The results showed that pyrolysis temperature significantly affected the distribution of products, while also causing the accumulation of heavy metals in chars. At higher temperatures, pyrolysis led to the migration of PAHs, sulfur, nitrogen-containing compounds, and heavy metals, forming different compounds.
