Hope for the future and willingness to pay for sustainable energy

Emma Pleeging et al.

Summary: This study found that people's Willingness To Pay (WTP) for green energy is related to hope, denial, worry, and understanding towards climate change. People who are more hopeful are willing to pay more for green energy, but only if this hope is not based on denial of the issue's severity. Hope, worry, and understanding are closely related to WTP, especially when accompanied by hope.
