Rate transient analysis of infinite-acting linear flow by use of piecewise constant diffusivity coefficients

Zizhong Liu et al.

Summary: Rate transient analysis techniques are developed based on analytical solutions to the nonlinear hydraulic diffusivity equation, using piecewise linear equations obtained by assigning constant hydraulic diffusivity coefficients to subdomains. The developed model shows high accuracy in estimating reservoir properties, pressure profiles, and flow rates, including cases with highly pressure-dependent properties. The proposed RTA approach provides a rigorous method for analyzing production data from pressure-sensitive formations during transient linear flow.

A pressure drop model of post-fracturing shut-in considering the effect of fracturing-fluid imbibition and oil replacement

Wang Fei et al.

Summary: This study proposed a shut-in pressure drop model coupling wellbore-fracture network-reservoir oil-water two-phase flow, which was able to reflect the oil-water displacement law and divide the pressure drop process into eight main control flow stages. By fitting the pressure drop data from five wells, important fracture network parameters were inversely obtained, providing a theoretical basis for evaluating the fracturing effect of shale oil horizontal wells and understanding the oil-water exchange law of shale reservoir after fracturing.

Study on Development of Shale Gas Horizontal Well With Time-Phased Staged Fracturing and Refracturing: Follow-Up and Evaluation of Well R9-2, A Pilot Well in Fuling Shale Gas Field

Wenrui Shi et al.

Summary: The study introduces a novel approach of time-phased staged fracturing and refracturing treatments in the development of the Fuling shale gas field, showing the effectiveness of fracturing at each stage. The combination of pressure build-up tests, gas production profile logging, and microseismic monitoring provides valuable insights for enhancing shale gas recovery. The findings serve as a direct guideline for future shale gas production.
