Multifractal analysis of coal pore structure based on NMR experiment: A new method for predicting T2 cutoff value

Yang Zhao et al.

Summary: Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) was used to study the pore structure of four types of coal samples and analyze the multifractal characteristics. The results showed that all coal samples were dominated by micropores and had similar multifractal characteristics, with a linear relationship between T-2 cutoff values and multifractal characteristic parameters. Models were developed to predict T-2 cutoff values with high accuracy.

Effect of heating on the molecular carbon structure and the evolution of mechanical properties of briquette coal

Qingqing Gan et al.

Summary: The preparation of briquette coal at different temperatures can affect its mechanical strength and molecular structure, with higher temperatures improving strength but also causing damage to pores. These findings offer insights for preparing raw materials for large-scale physical simulation experiments on coal and gas outbursts.

Experimental study on pore structure evolution of coal in macroscopic, mesoscopic, and microscopic scales during liquid nitrogen cyclic cold-shock fracturing

Yong Sun et al.

Summary: The study investigates the impact of liquid nitrogen cold shock on coal using various methods including ultrasonic inspection, stereomicroscopic imaging, and nuclear magnetic resonance. Results show that with increasing cold shock times, macroscopic damage to coal samples becomes more obvious, and changes occur in pore structure and porosity.

Effects of different conductive ions on pore-structure evolution of medium and high-rank coal bodies induced by electric pulses

Yihan Wang et al.

Summary: Electric pulse fracturing technology offers advantages of high energy efficiency, less environmental pollution, and shorter fracturing time compared to conventional methods, but also faces challenges such as rapid energy loss and small fracture radius. By using a high-voltage electric pulse system, this study examined the effects of conductive ions on the evolution of pore structure in coal bodies, showing improved conductivity and enhanced pore structure after treatment.
