Effects of nano-TiO2particle size on microstructure and electrochemical performance of TiO2/PEDOT nanocomposites cathode in lithium-sulphur battery

Mingquan Liu et al.

Summary: The PEDOT/TiO(2) nanocomposites were synthesized using an in situ approach with different TiO(2) particle sizes, showing the best discharge capacity when the TiO(2) particle size is 5 nm. The improved electrochemical performance of the cells is attributed to well-dispersed TiO(2) particles in PEDOT and the prevention of polysulfide diffusion by PEDOT during charge-discharge cycles.

Sulfur encapsulated in nitrogen-doped graphene aerogel as a cathode material for high performance lithium-sulfur batteries

Yan Jia et al.

Summary: A simple one-step hydrothermal method was used to design nitrogen-doped graphene aerogel composites with encapsulated sulfur, resulting in outstanding electrochemical performance including high sulfur content, excellent capacity retention, and good adsorption capacity for lithium polysulfide, attributed to the nitrogen-doped graphene aerogel's coating of sulfur, improvement of conductivity, and strong adsorption capacity of doped nitrogen atoms.

Ionic liquids for high performance lithium metal batteries

Kexin Liu et al.

Summary: The pursuit of high energy density has driven the development of high-performance lithium metal batteries, but it also brings about security issues. Ionic liquids have attracted attention for their high ionic conductivity and non-flammability, which are significant for improving lithium metal battery performance. The main strategies for future development of ionic liquid-based electrolytes for high performance lithium metal batteries will focus on molecular design, composition, and polymerization.
