Sulfur(IV) assisted oxidative removal of organic pollutants from source water

Alexandra Truzsi et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates an efficient method for the removal of COD from source water by adding Fe(II)/Fe(III) and sulfite ion and purging it with air. The COD removal efficiency can reach up to 87.5% under optimized conditions.

Efficacy of chlorine-based disinfectants (sodium hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide) on Salmonella Enteritidis planktonic cells, biofilms on food contact surfaces and chicken skin

Kye-Hwan Byun et al.

Summary: The study investigated the efficacy of chlorine-based disinfectants against Salmonella Enteritidis in different conditions, showing that chlorine dioxide had higher reduction ability than sodium hypochlorite. The results suggest that chlorine-based disinfectants could be effective in controlling Salmonella Enteritidis on food contact surfaces in the poultry industry to enhance food safety.
