Urinary parabens, bisphenol A and triclosan in primiparas from Shenzhen, China: Implications for exposure and health risks

Xueyan Chen et al.

Summary: The study investigated urinary levels of parabens, bisphenol A and triclosan in 84 primiparas from Shenzhen, China and found high detection rates for these chemicals in urine samples. Associations were found between the usage of plastic containers and higher concentrations of ethyl paraben or BPA in urine, indicating plastic containers may play a role in primipara exposure to these chemicals. The estimated daily intakes of parabens, bisphenol A and triclosan were relatively low compared to acceptable levels, with hazard quotients indicating no health risks for primiparas from South China.

Loss of Wnt16 Leads to Skeletal Deformities and Downregulation of Bone Developmental Pathway in Zebrafish

Xiaochao Qu et al.

Summary: This study successfully generated a wnt16(-/-) zebrafish model using CRISPR-Cas9 technology, and found that the wnt16 gene plays a crucial role in skeletal development. Through RNA sequencing and qRT-PCR validation, a series of down-regulated DEGs were identified, revealing the molecular mechanisms by which wnt16 regulates bone metabolism.
