Summary: The nitrogen-rich compound 6-azidotetrazolo[5,1-a]phthalazine (ATPH) exhibits high polymorphism and diverse molecular organization due to its ability to form various N-H···N and C-H···N interactions. Crystal structures of ATPH reveal a polymorphic landscape with stacked sheets and herringbone packing. Exploring this landscape provides insights into fields such as energetic materials and molecular crystallization.

Construction of Bicyclic 1,2,3-Triazine N-Oxides from Aminocyanides

Summary: Nine bicyclic 1,2,3-triazine 2-oxides were successfully synthesized using a facile and cost-effective method, along with nine 1,2,3-triazine 3-oxides obtained in good yields through an unusual nitration cyclization process. The reaction mechanism was studied experimentally and theoretically.

Cyano Derivatives of 7-Aminoquinoline that are Highly Emissive in Water: Potential for Sensing Applications

Summary: Synthesized 6-CN-7AQ and 3-CN-7AQ were found to exhibit intense emission with quantum yield as high as 63% and 85%, respectively, in water. In contrast, their derivatives 6CN-7N(3)Q and 3CN-7N(3)Q show virtually no emission, making them suitable for use as recognition agents in azide reactions. In addition, conjugation of 6CN-7AQ with PFVYLI peptide can recover highly emissive 6CN-7AQ after digestion by proteinase K, providing effective confirmation for viral detection in RT-qPCR.
