A fast tool for the parametric analysis of human body exposed to LF electromagnetic fields in biomedical applications

Riccardo Torchio et al.

Summary: This article presents a numerical procedure for analyzing the interaction between electromagnetic fields and biological tissues. The proposed method reduces the computational burden by voxelizing the human body and taking advantage of regular discretization. It also utilizes iterative preconditioned solvers and model order reduction techniques. The efficiency of the method is demonstrated through practical model problems.

Numerical study of blood perfusion and nanoparticle transport in prostate and muscle tumours during intravenous magnetic hyperthermia

Sreedhara Rao Gunakala et al.

Summary: This study investigates a two-phase mathematical model of intravenous magnetic nanoparticle hyperthermia for muscle and prostate tumours. The effects of non-Newtonian nanofluid properties, thermophoresis, and Brownian motion are considered, and numerical solutions are obtained to analyze the impact of tumour size, blood vessel radius, and haematocrit on blood flow and heat transfer.

Quantitation method of loss powers using commercial magnetic nanoparticles based on superparamagnetic behavior influenced by anisotropy for hyperthermia

Satoshi Ota et al.

Summary: The study measured the magnetization properties and heat dissipation of different commercial magnetic nanoparticles, estimating the effective core diameter and anisotropy constant taking into consideration the effect of anisotropy. A method to quantitate realistic heat dissipation of magnetic nanoparticles in tumor tissue by measurement of their magnetization properties was introduced.
