High-performance SiO/C as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries using commercial SiO and glucose as raw materials

Zi-Long Wu et al.

Summary: Silicon monoxide (SiO) is considered to be a promising anode material for lithium-ion batteries with higher capacity and longer cycle life. In this study, glucose was used as a carbon source to synthesize SiO/C composite with high performance. Optimal conditions for SiO/C synthesis were found to be the addition of 5 wt% glucose and a calcination temperature of 800 degrees C. The resulting SiO/C material showed excellent electrochemical performance and stability, making it suitable for LIB applications.

A nanotubular TiO2/SiOx/Si composite derived from cellulosic cotton as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries with enhanced electrochemical performance

Jiao Li et al.

Summary: A TiO2/SiOx/Si composite derived from cellulosic cotton was successfully synthesized using modified sol-gel deposition and layer-by-layer self-assembly processes. The composite exhibited a hierarchical nanotubular structure with improved electrochemical performance as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries, attributed to the synergistic effect of the unique 3D porous nanotubular network structure and uniform TiO2 coating layer, offering sufficient ion transport pathways and improving electron transfer efficiency.
