Dentist's Visits and Risk of Brain Abscess: A Nationwide, Population-Based Case-Control Study

Jacob Bodilsen et al.

Socioeconomic functioning in patients with brain abscess-a nationwide, population-based cohort study in Denmark

Lars Haukali Omland et al.

Summary: This population-based cohort study reveals that long-term functional outcomes are poor for patients with brain abscess, often leading to increased healthcare visits and higher rates of sick leave. However, these differences diminish over time, suggesting potential improvement in patients' conditions. Nonetheless, these individuals still experience permanently decreased employment rates and a higher risk of disability retirement.

Could Polygenic Risk Scores Be Useful in Psychiatry? A Review

Graham K. Murray et al.

Summary: Polygenic risk scores have the potential to aid in clinical decision-making in psychiatry, particularly in diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. Combining PRS with other risk factors may improve prediction of outcomes, but larger samples are needed for further development and evaluation. The utility and ethical considerations of PRS in clinical psychiatry should be carefully assessed in light of realistic expectations.
