Cooperative effects of Dopant-Free Hole-Transporting materials and polycarbonate film for sustainable perovskite solar cells

Wei-Jie Gao et al.

Summary: Dopant-free hole-transporting materials (HTMs) and interface modification are effective approaches for sustainable perovskite solar cells (PSCs). This study successfully synthesized a low-cost dopant-free HTM and improved its film-forming property by introducing a polycarbonate (PC) polymer. The results showed that the PCE of the doped GW-4-based cell was higher than that of the spiro-OMeTAD-based cell, and the PC/pristine GW-4-based device exhibited good humidity stability.

Evolution of defects during the degradation of metal halide perovskite solar cells under reverse bias and illumination

Zhenyi Ni et al.

Summary: The study reveals the location, mechanisms, and defects involved in the performance degradation of p-i-n perovskite solar cells under illumination or reverse bias. The efficiency decreases over time, yet the introduction of a hole-blocking layer between the layers can improve the reverse-bias stability. Charged iodide interstitial defects within the device layers are observed and found to contribute to efficiency degradation under both light and reverse bias conditions.
