Summary: As microplastics gain global attention, the hazards of plasticizers (PAEs) have attracted people's attention in the field of agricultural soil. This study reveals, for the first time, the influence of PAEs residues on soil metabolic functions using high-throughput sequencing and metabolomics platforms. It is found that DBP treatment significantly changes the soil metabolite profile.
