A systematic comparison of neurotoxicity of bisphenol A and its derivatives in zebrafish

Jie Gu et al.

Summary: The study compared the neurotoxicity of four BPs on zebrafish and found that BPAF, BPF, and BPA exposure significantly reduced locomotor activity in the larvae. Additionally, BPAF adversely affected motor neuron axon length and CNS neurogenesis. BPAF displayed the strongest effects on neurotransmitters levels, followed by BPF and BPA, while BPS showed the weakest effects.

SDHI Fungicide Toxicity and Associated Adverse Outcome Pathways: What Can Zebrafish Tell Us?

Constantin Yanicostas et al.

Summary: Succinate dehydrogenase inhibitors (SDHIs) used in agriculture to combat molds and fungi have been found to cause multiple adverse effects in zebrafish, including developmental toxicity, cardiovascular abnormalities, and liver and kidney damage, indicating significant toxicity towards off-target organisms.

Bixafen, a succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor fungicide, causes microcephaly and motor neuron axon defects during development

Alexandre Brenet et al.

Summary: SDHIs, widely used fungicides in agriculture, have been found to potentially pose health risks by inhibiting not only fungal activity but also human cell activity. Recent study shows that bixafen, a new-generation SDHI, exhibits neurotoxicity in vertebrates, causing developmental defects in the central nervous system.

Environmentally relevant concentrations of boscalid exposure affects the neurobehavioral response of zebrafish by disrupting visual and nervous systems

Le Qian et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the effects of environmentally relevant boscalid concentrations on zebrafish, indicating that boscalid significantly impacted the behavior and physiology of both larval and adult zebrafish. Predation rates were decreased, and adverse alterations in eye and brain cell differentiation were observed after exposure to boscalid. Gene expression analysis suggested that boscalid may impair visual and nervous system function in zebrafish.

Toxic effects and potential mechanisms of Fluxapyroxad to zebrafish (Danio rerio) embryos

Hai Lin et al.

Summary: The study found that fluxapyroxad has toxic effects on zebrafish embryos, causing abnormal spontaneous movement, malformations, decreased heartbeat, and affecting key enzyme activities such as succinate dehydrogenase. Oxidative stress, cell apoptosis, and mitochondrial damage may be the toxic mechanisms.

Summary: Human activities produce chemical compounds that contaminate the aquatic environment and harm aquatic species and human health. This study evaluated the developmental toxicity of TCC in zebrafish, finding potential risks associated with TCC exposure, emphasizing the need for further attention and research.
