Gas-liquid separation performance of a micro axial flow cyclone separator

Yuan Li et al.

Summary: A micro two-stage axial flow cyclone with guide vanes was developed to pre-separate liquid and solid in front of the dry gas seal filter of a high-pressure natural gas compressor. Experimental verification and optimization were conducted to improve the separation efficiency, and the cyclone was successfully applied in practice, demonstrating good performance under high-pressure conditions.

The effects of swirl vanes and a vortex stabilizer on the dynamic flow field in a cyclonic separator

Gustavo E. O. Celis et al.

Summary: This study investigates the isolated and combined effects of swirl vanes and a vortex stabilizer on the properties of the flow inside a gas-liquid cyclonic separator. It shows that these components influence the position of the flow rotation center and can reduce pressure drop.

Experimental and numerical investigation on the separation of hydrophilic fine particles using heterogeneous condensation preconditioning technique in gas cyclones

Jiarui Wang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of operating parameters on the heterogeneous condensation process and separation efficiency of gas cyclones. The results showed that increasing the initial supersaturation degree led to an increase in particle size and removal efficiency, while increasing the gas flow rate decreased particle size and increased removal efficiency. The use of heterogeneous condensation preconditioning technique significantly improved the removal efficiency of fine particles in gas cyclones.

Experimental and numerical studies on a new double-stage tandem nesting cyclone

Guoyin Yu et al.

Summary: The paper introduces a new type of gas cyclone separator with double cyclones, showing significantly improved collection efficiency compared to the traditional Lapple cyclone with only slightly elevated pressure drop. This new design has potential for particle classification due to the different size ranges of particles collected in the three outlets.
