Critical thresholds of benefit distribution in an extended snowdrift game model

Bin-Quan Li et al.

Summary: This paper introduces an extended model based on the snowdrift game model to study the impact of inequality on the evolution of cooperation. The study finds that within the limited resource range, the larger the resource is, the larger the critical proportion of benefits that defectors can exploit. Inequality is stronger in social structures with sparse connections and weaker in those with dense connections. Introducing incentives and punishments makes it harder for cooperators to get a fair share of the profits.

Non-consensus states in circular opinion model with repulsive interaction

Wenchen Han et al.

Summary: This study introduces a circular opinion model and investigates the dynamics of circular opinions on a ring with the backfire effect. The interplay between circular opinions and repulsive interaction leads to rich opinion dynamics. Six types of opinion states are identified based on their profiles in opinion space and spatial organizations.

Coordination and equilibrium selection in games: the role of local effects

Tomasz Raducha et al.

Summary: This study investigates the role of local effects and finite size effects in reaching coordination and equilibrium selection in two-player coordination games. The findings show that coordination can be achieved under specific connectivity conditions, and the combination of local effects and update rules is crucial for achieving coordination on the payoff-dominant strategy.

Environmental feedback in spatial public goods game

Luhe Yang et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the evolution of cooperation on a two-dimension square lattice by introducing an exogenous variable that promotes cooperation. The modified model shows stricter conditions for the emergence and maintenance of cooperation, and can be applied in scenarios with environmental feedback.

Cooperator driven oscillation in a time-delayed feedback-evolving game

Fang Yan et al.

Summary: Research suggests that time delay of cooperative actions may lead to periodic oscillatory dynamics of the environment and cooperation level, potentially impacting the coevolutionary dynamics of strategic interactions with environmental feedback.

Eco-evolutionary dynamics with payoff-dependent environmental feedback

Lixuan Cao et al.

Summary: This work focuses on a dynamic strategy updating model with payoff-dependent environmental feedback, identifying conditions for stable internal equilibria. Results indicate that sensitivity of environmental degradation rates to defector's payoffs promotes cooperation, while sensitivity of enhancement rates to cooperator's payoffs inhibits cooperation. The relative speed of environmental and strategy dynamics has a qualitative influence on the overall system dynamics.

Capturing the diversity of multilingual societies

Thomas Louf et al.

Summary: The cultural diversity encoded within languages is at risk due to globalization leading to language extinction. Understanding the driving factors of language extinction and mechanisms for coexistence is crucial. Large-scale empirical analysis reveals diverse spatial patterns of language coexistence, and the importance of history in understanding the present state of languages.

Game-environment feedback dynamics in growing population: Effect of finite carrying capacity

Joy Das Bairagya et al.

Summary: The tragedy of the commons occurs when a shared resource is overexploited by selfish individuals, leading to its depletion. A mathematical framework that incorporates density-dependent payoffs and logistic growth of the population has been introduced to model the game-resource feedback in eco-evolutionary dynamics. The dynamics show bistability where a finite carrying capacity can either prevent or cause the tragedy of the commons depending on initial conditions.
