Fabrication of 3D printed antimicrobial polycaprolactone scaffolds for tissue engineering applications

Socrates Radhakrishnan et al.

Summary: In this study, silver nanoparticles were successfully synthesized in a PCL solution and further extruded into filaments for 3D printing. The fabricated scaffolds exhibited interconnected porous structures and demonstrated 80% degradation in 20 days in enzymatic degradation studies. The scaffolds showed cytocompatibility with bone cells and antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, making them promising for bone tissue engineering applications.

The Emerging Regulatory Role of Circular RNAs in Periodontal Tissues and Cells

Kexin Jiao et al.

Summary: Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease that leads to irreversible loss of tooth-supporting tissues. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) found in oral tissue are expressed in a tissue-specific manner and play crucial regulatory functions in diseases, including periodontitis. CircRNAs are associated with pathological periodontitis tissues and play a role in periodontal cell differentiation.

Alkali-Treated Titanium Coated with a Polyurethane, Magnesium and Hydroxyapatite Composite for Bone Tissue Engineering

Mahmoud Agour et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to form a functional layer on titanium implants to enhance bioactivity. Layers of polyurethane containing hydroxyapatite nanoparticles and magnesium particles were deposited on alkali-treated Ti surfaces. The results showed enhanced interfacial bonding and cell response to the coated Ti substrates, suggesting potential for inducing bone formation.

Transplantation of decellularized and lyophilized amniotic membrane inhibits endometrial fibrosis by regulating connective tissue growth factor and tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-2

Xing Chen et al.

Summary: In a rat model study, transplantation of DL-AM was found to prevent the development of intrauterine adhesion (IUA) to a certain extent, indicating its potential as an alternative strategy for managing the condition. However, evidence of endometrial regeneration was not observed in both groups receiving DL-AM transplantation and those without, suggesting limited effects on endometrial regeneration.
