Effect of HF and NaOH etching on the composition and structure of SiOC ceramics

Kedong Xia et al.

Summary: Porous SiOC ceramics were prepared using TEOS and VTES as precursors and etched with HF and NaOH solutions. The pyrolysis temperature significantly affects the carbon structure, with different types of pores formed after HF and NaOH etching. NaOH etching is more effective in increasing specific surface area, resulting in carbon-enriched SiOC ceramics.

Microwave-assisted solvothermal synthesis of hollow mesoporous SiOC ceramics in NaOH solution

Kedong Xia et al.

Summary: Hollow SiOC ceramics were prepared using a microwave-assisted solvothermal method with only mesopores formed in NaOH solution. Increasing the microwave temperature and NaOH concentration increased the oxygen-enriched units, reduced the Si-C bonds in the precursors, and enhanced the etching effect in the interior SiOC ceramics. The specific surface area of SiOC ceramics increased with higher solvothermal temperature but decreased with increasing NaOH concentration. The synthesis temperature had a larger impact on the formation of hollow SiOC ceramics compared to NaOH concentration.

Microporous polymer networks constructed from cross-linkable linear polyimides for CO2 adsorption

Tianjiao Wang et al.

Summary: In recent years, linear polyimides with intrinsic microporosity have been widely used in gas adsorption and separation due to their high BET surface area and microporous structures. The introduction of crosslinked structures has been found to be an effective way to improve microporous porosity and gas sorption performance.
