Cation distribution in Ni substituted Ba0.5Sr1.5Co2Fe12O22 Y-type hexagonal ferrites

M. Manendar et al.

Summary: The study utilized in-field Fe-57 Mossbauer and Raman spectroscopy to investigate the cation distribution in Ni substituted polycrystalline Co2Y-BSCFO hexaferrite samples. The results indicated that Ni substitution in Co2Y-BSCFO preferentially occupies the octahedral site with spin-down configuration. Temperature dependent dielectric data showed significant dispersion in dielectric constant, which was explained by the presence of loss peaks and a conduction-hopping mechanism.

Effect of zinc substitution on U-type barium hexaferrite-epoxy composites as designed for microwave absorbing applications

Vivek Pratap et al.

Summary: In this study, U-type barium hexaferrite poly-crystalline powder was successfully synthesized via solid state reaction route, with Zn+2 substitutions affecting the lattice parameters and magnetic properties. Increasing Zn+2 content led to a decrease in lattice parameters, saturation magnetization, and an increase in particle size. The prepared composites showed promising electromagnetic properties as excellent microwave absorbers in the C-band, X-band, and Ku-band frequency ranges.

Tunable electromagnetic properties in barium hexagonal ferrites with dual-ion substitution

Sheng Liu et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates the tunability of electromagnetic properties in hexagonal ferrites through structural engineering via chemical dual-ion substitution. It was found that the dual-ion substitution enhances dielectric polarization, improves magnetic ordering, increases electromagnetic loss, and adjusts impedance matching in barium hexaferrites. Enhanced reflection loss in modified barium hexaferrite with broadened absorption bandwidth will have wide applications in electromagnetic compatibility or stealth fields.

Magnetic, dielectric and structural properties of spinel ferrites synthesized by sol-gel method

Abdul Hakeem et al.

Summary: The study focused on the effects of ytterbium doping on structural, electrical and magnetic properties of Mn-ferrites, demonstrating an increase in coercivity and a decrease in remanence and saturation magnetization. Ytterbium incorporation also led to a reduction in both real and imaginary parts of permittivity, while enhancing the impedance of the ferrite lattice. The results suggest that these compounds are suitable for microwave absorption applications.

Summary: The Sol-gel technique was used to synthesize X-type hexa-ferrites substituted with Bi3+-Co2+ in SrNi-based compounds. The substitution affected lattice parameters, force constant, dielectric constant, magnetization, and coercivity. Cole-Cole plots indicated the influence of grain-boundary resistance. The study suggests that Bi3+-Co2+ substitution can enhance the microwave absorption properties of X-type hexa-ferrites.
