Investigation on the effect of neodymium doping on the magnetic, dielectric and microwave absorption properties of strontium hexaferrite particles in X-band

Avesh Garg et al.

Summary: Neodymium-doped strontium hexaferrites were developed as microwave absorbing materials, resulting in the formation of pure ferrite phase with smaller particle size due to neodymium acting as a growth inhibitor. Saturation magnetization and coercivity decreased with increasing neodymium doping concentration, leading to improved impedance matching and reflection loss. An optimal attenuation constant and reflection loss were observed at a doping concentration of X = 0.3, with a maximum reflection loss value of -40.595 dB at 9.62 GHz.

Coexistence of Zn and Fe ions influenced magnetic and microwave shielding properties of Zn-doped SrFe12O19 ferrites

H. H. Nguyen et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the structural characterization, valence change of Fe, Raman spectra, and magnetic and microwave shielding properties of polycrystalline SrFe12-xZnxO19 (x = 0-1) samples. The Zn doping caused notable changes in the lattice constants, saturation magnetization, and coercive force of the samples. Additionally, the analysis revealed that both dielectric and magnetic losses contribute to the microwave-absorption properties of SrFe12-xZnxO19.

Effect of La3+ cation solubility on the structural, magnetic and electrical properties of barium hexaferrite

P. Marino-Castellanos et al.

Summary: The solubility of La3+ cation affects the structural, magnetic, and electrical properties of M-type barium hexaferrite. It induces the formation of secondary phases and alters the material's properties. Exchange between Fe3+ and Fe2+ ions significantly influences the magnetic properties, while La3+ content and secondary phase concentration play a crucial role in the electrical properties.

Dielectric Permittivity Model for Polymer-Filler Composite Materials by the Example of Ni- and Graphite-Filled Composites for High-Frequency Absorbing Coatings

Artem Prokopchuk et al.

Summary: The paper proposes the use of pliable highly microwave radiation absorbing composite materials based on polymers or rubbers filled with conductive and magnetic fillers to suppress unnecessary radio-electronic noise and protect electronic devices from electromagnetic interference. As electronic devices and systems are expanding to the millimeter wave range, the absorption and shielding capabilities of composites should be evaluated for increasing operating frequency. This study focuses on composites filled with high-loss dielectric fillers, where absorption significantly increases as frequency rises, allowing for maximum frequency selective absorption due to electromagnetic and electromechanical resonances.

Thickness optimization towards microwave absorption enhancement in three-layer absorber based on SrFe12O19, SiO2@SrFe12O19 and MWCNTs@SrFe12O19 nanocomposites

Xiaolei Zhu et al.

Summary: This research focuses on evaluating the microwave absorption characteristics of a three-layer absorber through thickness optimization. Factors such as internal reflections, interfacial polarization, phase cancellations were found to significantly impact microwave absorption. By synthesizing different nanocomposites and optimizing their layer arrangement and thickness, the microwave absorption performance was improved.
