Effect of heat treatment temperature on mechanical and tribological properties of copper impregnated carbon/carbon composite

Pei Wang et al.

Summary: By utilizing heat treatment and copper impregnation, the toughness and friction behaviors of carbon/carbon composites can be enhanced. With increasing heat treatment temperature, the flexural strength decreases and the failure mode changes. The increase in carbon crystal degree through heat treatment helps form a smooth tribolayer on the wear surface, leading to a decrease in friction coefficient and arc discharging frequency, and a shift in the main wear mechanism during current carrying friction tests.

Friction and Wear Behavior of Copper-graphite Composites with Different Compositions in Water Environments

Hongming Wie et al.

Summary: Copper-graphite composites with different copper content were prepared by SPS, showing variations in density, hardness, friction coefficient, and wear rate in friction testing. Increasing copper content improved density and hardness, while decreasing friction coefficients under dry friction conditions. Water friction conditions resulted in lower friction coefficients and the wear rate was influenced by copper content and etching treatment.

Preparation and thermophysical properties of graphite flake-carbon fiber coreinforced copper matrix composites

Junchen Huang et al.

Summary: Graphite flake-carbon fiber reinforced copper matrix composites were prepared using vacuum hot pressing technology. The study found that an appropriate amount of carbon fiber can effectively improve the bending strength and thermal conductivity of the composites, while excessive addition leads to a decrease in performance.

Thermal and tribological properties of MoS2 doped graphite/copper composites by microwave sintering

Tang Zhimeng et al.

Summary: The study synthesized MoS2-doped graphite/copper self-lubricating composites using rapid microwave sintering and investigated their thermal properties and friction behaviors. Doping molybdenum disulfide solid lubricant into graphite promoted the formation of friction film, optimizing the friction and wear properties of the composites. Additionally, the composites exhibited better thermal and frictional properties at 200 degrees C compared to room temperature.

Preparation and properties of copper-plated expanded graphite/ copper composites

Lin Bai et al.

Summary: The study focused on the microstructure, physical properties, and tribological properties of EG@Cu/Cu composites with different EG content. The results showed that the copper coating effectively improved the interface bonding between C-Cu, and the uniform distribution of EG improved the continuity of the copper matrix, forming a self-lubricating film during friction.
