Improving Anti-Coking Properties of Ni/Al2O3 Catalysts via Synergistic Effect of Metallic Nickel and Nickel Phosphides in Dry Methane Reforming

Yu Shi et al.

Summary: By adjusting the ratio of metallic nickel to nickel phosphides, the properties of the catalyst were changed to investigate the synergistic effect of metallic nickel and nickel phosphides in dry methane reforming. It was found that the presence of phosphorus increased the dispersion of metallic nickel and its interaction with the alumina support, resulting in reduced carbon deposition.

Controlling carbon formation over Ni/CeO2 catalyst for dry reforming of CH4 by tuning Ni crystallite size and oxygen vacancies of the support

Renata O. da Fonseca et al.

Summary: The study found that an increase in Ni crystallite size promotes the formation of carbon, but carbon deposition is negligible when the crystallite size is either small or large. Oxygen vacancies do not contribute to carbon removal from the Ni surface.

Alternative Oxidants for the Catalytic Oxidative Coupling of Methane

Allison M. Arinaga et al.

Summary: Research on the catalytic oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) using alternative oxidants such as N2O, CO2, and S-2 is still in its early stages, with unique advantages and challenges compared to oxygen (O-2) as the oxidant. This area has not been extensively reviewed, despite the renewed interest in OCM due to the abundance of shale gas resources.

Nickel Phosphide Catalysts as Efficient Systems for CO2 Upgrading via Dry Reforming of Methane

Miriam Gonzalez-Castano et al.

Summary: This study investigates the significant role of support nature in the formation of Ni2P active phases for supported catalysts, demonstrating that the nature of support can impact the catalytic performance of the catalysts in CO2 reforming of methane reactions. The different Ni2P catalysts supported on different oxides showed varying catalytic performance, with Ni2P/Al2O3 exhibiting the highest conversion rate and stability attributed to larger fractions of Ni2P species.

Summary: The evolution of the surface NiAl2O4 spinel phase in NixAl1O2-delta mesoporous catalysts synthesized by the citric acid sol-gel method was systematically studied. The constructed Ni-0-NiAl2O4 interfaces and active oxygen species generated by filling oxygen vacancies of NiAl2O4 spinel play important roles in enhancing the stability and resistance to coking and sintering in dry reforming of methane reaction.
