Summary: This study explores the experiences of self-management of feet for diabetes patients from the perspective of patients, support persons, and healthcare providers. Predictors of healing, ulcer recurrence and persistence, amputation and mortality in type 2 diabetic patients with diabetic foot: a 10-year retrospective cohort study

Carmine Gazzaruso et al.

Summary: The study found that the majority of patients healed within 7.6 months, with some experiencing DFU persistence, minor or major amputations, and death. Impairment of renal function, previous cardiovascular disease, lower BMI, osteomyelitis, and markers of peripheral artery disease were identified as predictors of different outcomes. These findings suggest possible future strategies for improving prognosis and management of DFU.
