Fluorescence tuning with a single dye embedded in a polymer matrix and its Application on multicolor OLEDs

Enrique Perez-Gutierrez et al.

Summary: The emission tuning of (Z)-2-(4-bromophenyl)-3-(4-(diphenylamine)phenyl)acrylonitrile was studied based on solvatochromism and colloidal formation, achieving fluorescence emission from blue to orange. The addition of water caused changes in emission by forming agglomerates, enabling tuning of emission color to green, yellow, and orange. The electroluminescence wavelength in OLED devices was adjusted only by varying the PVK:dye ratio, demonstrating the compound's unique behavior compared to other aggregation-induced emission phenomena.

Efficient Bilayer Light-Emitting Diode Based on Distyrylarylene-Containing Polymers: Numerical and DFT Simulation

Rihab Chouk et al.

Summary: This article presents a study on the optoelectronic properties of two semi-conducting polymers through a combination of experimental and theoretical approaches. Theoretical calculations based on density functional theory and Marcus theories predicted the optical, electronic, and charge transport properties of the polymers, which were compared with experimental results. The P-DSBT polymer exhibited better electron and hole mobilities, and numerical simulations confirmed the enhancement in electrical behavior in a bilayer OLED device compared to a monolayer device.

Effect of the Hole Injection Layer Conductivity on the Performance of Polymer Light-Emitting Diodes

Gunel Huseynova et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that the performance of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on solution-processed polymer emissive layers can be significantly enhanced by doping a polymer hole injection layer (HIL). Doping with an organic small molecule greatly improved the electrical conductivity of the polymer films and resulted in increased luminance and quantum efficiency in fabricated polymer OLEDs. This improvement in light-emitting characteristics is attributed to the boosted hole injection properties of the doped PEDOT:PSS (AI4083) layer.

Considering Density Functional Approaches for Actinide Species: The An66 Molecule Set

Lucas E. Aebersold et al.

Summary: This study compared the effects of 18 different density functionals on the predictions of energetic properties of actinide compounds, specifically focusing on the importance of spin-orbit effects. Investigating a set of 66 small actinide compounds, it was found that both spin-orbit effects and basis set choice played a role in the accuracy of predictions, with the need to consider relativistic effects.
