Solid desiccant-based dehumidification systems: A critical review on configurations, techniques, and current trends

Mahmoud M. Abd-Elhady et al.

Summary: Desiccant dehumidification systems have the advantage of utilizing low-grade heat sources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but are limited by high capital costs and low efficiency. Improving performance, reliability, and reducing costs are necessary to enhance commercial competitiveness in the market.

Performance assessment of a desiccant air-conditioning system combined with dew-point indirect evaporative cooler and PV/T

Umutcan Olmus et al.

Summary: A new solid desiccant air-conditioning system configuration integrated with direct and dew-point indirect evaporative coolers and water-cooled PV/T solar collectors is proposed and simulated in this study. The performance of desiccant wheel and dew-point indirect evaporative cooler are examined using multiple linear regression equations, and the energetic performance of the system is evaluated.

Comprehensive modelling of rotary desiccant wheel with different multiple regression and machine learning methods for balanced flow

Yunus Emre Guzelel et al.

Summary: Several alternative models were developed using multiple linear regression and machine learning algorithms to determine the output states of silica gel desiccant wheels for balanced flow, with decision tree method being applied for the first time. It was found that MLR-IV, MLPR-III, and DTVII are the most suitable models, with DTVII performing the best among them.

Computational intelligence and mathematical modelling in chanterelle mushrooms' drying process under heat pump dryer

Mecha Peter et al.

Summary: The study introduced a novel method for predictive modeling of chanterelle mushrooms' drying kinetics, employing computational techniques and mathematical modeling. Different drying air temperatures were investigated, showing a decrease in moisture ratio and an increase in moisture diffusivities with temperature rise. Statistical analysis revealed the most superior thin-layer drying model and the best computational intelligence models for predicting the drying kinetics of chanterelle mushrooms under heat pump dryer.
