Thieno[3,4-c]pyrrole-4,6-dione-Based Conjugated Polymers for Nonfullerene Organic Solar Cells

Mustafa Yasa et al.

Summary: Donor-acceptor (D-A) conjugated polymers have gained significant attention in the field of organic electronics, with organic solar cells (OSCs) being one of the most critical applications. Traditional fullerene-based OSCs have drawbacks, leading to the exploration of nonfullerene acceptors (NFAs). Thieno[3,4-c]pyrrole-4,6-dione (TPD), as a strong electron-withdrawing group, has been widely used in high-performance OSCs due to its ability to enhance optoelectronic properties and photovoltaic performance.

Black-to-Transmissive Electrochromism in π-Conjugated Polymer-Based Materials and Devices

Shuanma Yan et al.

Summary: Electrochromic materials, especially black materials that can switch reversibly between black and transmissive states, have great potential in commercial applications. Many black electrochromic materials and devices have been developed in recent decades, including the black-to-transmissive and transmissive-to-black switching. This review focuses on the development of black-to-transmissive electrochromism in pi-conjugated polymer-based materials.

Synthesis of selenophene substituted benzodithiophene and fluorinated benzothiadiazole based conjugated polymers for organic solar cell applications

Sultan Taskaya Aslan et al.

Summary: A series of alternating conjugated copolymers containing selenophene modified benzodithiophene and fluorine bearing benzothiadiazole were synthesized and their electrochemical, spectroelectrochemical, and photovoltaic behaviors were investigated. Computational studies were used to understand the structural and electronic properties affected by fluorine substitution, which was compared with experimental results. The influence of fluorine substitution on the electronic structure of polymers and the improved photovoltaic performance were explored in this study.

Donor-Acceptor Conjugated Polymers with Efficient Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence: Random versus Alternative Polymerization

Xue Li et al.

Summary: Random polymerization has been proposed for achieving efficient thermally activated delayed fluorescence in donor-acceptor conjugated polymers. By increasing hole-electron separation, random polymers show reduced singlet-triplet energy splitting, leading to higher external quantum efficiency compared to alternative polymers.

The role of fullerene derivatives in perovskite solar cells: electron transporting or electron extraction layers?

Olivia Fernandez-Delgado et al.

Summary: The study focused on the synthesis, characterization, and application of fullerene derivatives with primary, secondary, and tertiary nitrogen atoms in perovskite solar cells. The new compounds performed better as electron extracting layers (EELs) than as conventional electron transporting materials, possibly due to their stronger interaction with the interfacial Pb2+.
