This review discusses the current burden, risk factors, acute management, and care gaps in fragility fractures in different settings. It provides a summary of global, regional, and national initiatives to improve care quality and proposes a research agenda. Systematic approaches to improve acute care, rehabilitation, and prevention of fragility fractures are crucial for high-, middle-, and low-income countries worldwide.
