Magnetic effect on the creeping flow around a slightly deformed semipermeable sphere

Ravendra Prasad Namdeo et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the steady axisymmetric creeping motion of a conducting, incompressible viscous fluid past a weakly permeable slightly deformed sphere in the presence of a transverse magnetic field. The governing equations are transformed into dimensionless form and solved using the separation of variables method. The study shows the impact of Hartmann numbers, permeability, and deformation parameter on the coefficient of drag and the streamline pattern, indicating an enhancement of drag on the oblate spheroid compared to the prolate spheroid.

Analysis of Stokes flow of micropolar fluid through a porous cylinder

Deepak Kumar Maurya et al.

Summary: This study investigates the Stokes flow of a micropolar fluid through a porous cylinder with different parameters, comparing the flow characteristics under two types of boundary value problems. Flow behavior inside the porous cylinder differs depending on whether continuity of tangential stress or continuity of couple stress is maintained.

Flow through membrane built up by impermeable spheroid coated with porous layer under the influence of uniform magnetic field: effect of stress jump condition

Pramod Kumar Yadav et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the flow of viscous Newtonian fluid over a membrane composed of spheroidal particles with an impermeable core, analyzing the hydrodynamic permeability using various boundary conditions and controlling parameters. The study reduces the problem of aggregates into that of a single particle and employs different models on the solid surface and fluid-porous interface. Comparison of results and discussion of controlling parameters are provided for understanding the behavior of the membrane under various conditions.

MICROPOLAR FLUID FLOW THROUGH A POROUS CYLINDER EMBEDDED IN ANOTHER UNBOUNDED POROUS MEDIUM

Satya Deo et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the flow of micropolar fluid through a porous cylinder embedded in another infinite porous medium. The expressions for various physical quantities and drag forces for the porous cylinder are obtained and discussed for both porous fluid flow regions.

Influence of MHD on micropolar fluid flow past a sphere implanted in porous media

Krishna Prasad Madasu et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the impact of magnetic field on the motion of incompressible micropolar fluid past a sphere in Brinkman's porous media. It calculates the drag force exerted on the sphere under the magnetic effect and illustrates the variations of drag coefficient and tangential velocity with different physical parameters. The results provide insights into how the flow rate can be altered by adjusting these parameters.
