High-Temperature Compatibility of Structural Alloys with Supercritical and Subcritical CO2

Bruce A. Pint

Summary: Supercritical CO2 offers attractive features for power generation, but compatibility with structural alloys is a concern. Only highly alloyed advanced austenitic steels are resistant to carburization at 650-750°C. More study is needed to find better solutions.
