Thermodynamic analysis of a novel ejector-enhanced auto-cascade refrigeration cycle

Jiarui Liu et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a novel ejector-enhanced auto-cascade refrigeration cycle (NEARC) and compares its performance with conventional auto-cascade refrigeration cycle (CARC) and ejector-enhanced auto-cascade refrigeration cycle (EARC) using energy and exergy analysis methods. NEARC shows superior COP and exergy efficiency compared to CARC under various working conditions, with the best performance observed when the initial mass fraction of R290 is around 0.7.

Thermodynamic analysis of auto-cascade refrigeration cycles, with and without ejector, for ultra low temperature freezing using a mixture of refrigerants R600a and R1150

Enrique Angel Rodriguez-Jara et al.

Summary: This study proposed two modifications of the auto-cascade system by including an ejector device to improve COP, using a mixture of ethylene and isobutane as alternative refrigerants. The results showed a potential improvement in COP of 12% when the ejector was used as an expansion device. The study concluded that the mixture of ethylene and isobutane is suitable for auto-cascade cycles and the ejector can be implemented to improve COP without adding excessive complexity and cost.

Performance analysis of a dual temperature heat pump based on ejector-vapor compression cycle

Jian Liu et al.

Summary: A novel dual temperature air-source heat pump system based on ejector-vapor compression cycle outperforms the conventional system in terms of performance, showing significant improvements in COPh, q(v), and eta(II), especially under typical operating conditions. R290 exhibits the best performance among the various refrigerants. The NDAHP system performance is more sensitive to the evaporating temperature than the condensing temperature, and the eta(II) is significantly affected by the high-temperature heating load ratio (LR), increasing with the LR.
