Cold-Resistant Nitrogen/Sulfur Dual-Doped Graphene Fiber Supercapacitors with Solar-Thermal Energy Conversion Effect

Tianyu Zhao et al.

Summary: Graphene fiber-based supercapacitors face limitations in cold environments due to low energy density and poor cold resistance, but synthesized nitrogen/sulfur dual-doped graphene fibers show improved capacitive performance. The use of a modified gel electrolyte enables high capacitance and expanded operating temperature range. Additionally, the solar-thermal effect of graphene prevents freezing, ensuring reliability and flexibility of the supercapacitor in cold outdoor environments.

Structural changes and electrochemical properties of lacquer wood activated carbon prepared by phosphoric acid-chemical activation for supercapacitor applications

Sheng-Chun Hu et al.

Summary: This study investigates the performance of activated carbons prepared from lacquer wood through one-step and two-step activation processes at different temperatures in supercapacitor applications. The results show that the AC generated through the one-step activation process at 400 degrees Celsius exhibits superior specific surface area compared to those from the two-step activation method. Additionally, biomass-derived ACs demonstrate better electrochemical properties than those derived from charcoal. The study suggests that LW-derived ACs are promising electrodes for high-performance supercapacitors, providing valuable guidance for their industrial application.
