Carrier depletion mediated exciton-surface plasmon coupling at the mesoporous TiO2/Ag interface

Yuseong Kim et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigated the impact of carrier depletion width changes in TiO2 on exciton-plasmon coupling at the TiO2/Ag nanoparticle interface. The results showed that energy band bending in TiO2 and Ag NP-induced interfacial traps are coupled under illumination, affecting plasmon-induced interfacial charge separation. The research highlighted the significant effect of localized interfacial states and energy band bending on exciton-plasmon coupling.

Recent advances in TiO2-functionalized textile surfaces

Mohammad Mamunur Rashid et al.

Summary: TiO2 has been recognized as one of the most attractive nanomaterials for the functionalization of textiles due to its unique properties. Chemical and physical modification of textile fibers with TiO2 nanoparticles and structures offer various functional properties such as self-cleaning, antimicrobial activity, UV protection, hydrophobicity, thermal stability, flame retardancy, and electrical conductivity. New strategies for enhancing visible light photocatalytic activity through TiO2 surface modification are discussed in this review, along with future research perspectives in this area.

Functionalization of cellulosic fibers with a kaolinite-TiO2 nano-hybrid composite via a solvothermal process for flame retardant applications

Carlos Rafael Silva de Oliveira et al.

Summary: In this study, an eco-responsible flame retardant treatment based on kaolinite-TiO2 nano-hybrid composite was successfully prepared and incorporated into cotton fabric fibers through a more sustainable route. The treated cotton product showed high fireproof performance, thermal degradation reduction, residue formation increase, and peak heat release reduction, all while maintaining mechanical resistance and some resistance to washing.
