The synergistic effects of oxygen vacancy engineering and surface gold decoration on commercial SnO2 for ppb-level DMMP sensing

Summary: This study reports the synergistic effects of oxygen vacancy engineering and surface gold decoration on the detection of organophosphorus compounds. By optimizing the composition and structure of the sensing materials, high sensitivity and fast response to organophosphorus compounds are achieved. The Au nanoparticles decorated oxygen vacancy-enriched SnO2 hybrids show excellent sensing performances for the detection of dimethyl methyl phosphonate (DMMP), paving a new way for the fabrication of metal oxides-based gas sensors.

Effect of oxygen vacancy sites in exposed crystal facet on the gas sensing performance of ZnO nanomaterial

Summary: This study investigated the gas sensitivity of ZnO nanostructures on different exposed surfaces, demonstrating that ZnO-whisker exhibited superior sensing performance in all ranges compared to ZnO-rod. Mesoporous MXene/ZnO nanorod hybrids of high surface area for UV-activated NO2 gas sensing in ppb-level

Summary: The novel Ti3C2Tx MXene/ZnO nanorod hybrids demonstrated high response, sensing rate, sub-ppb detecting limit, reproducibility, and reversibility for optoelectronic NO2 sensors. By introducing mesostructured Ti3C2Tx MXene/ZnO nanorod hybrids, the sensor showed greatly enhanced optoelectronic and gas-sensing performance to ppb-leveled NO2 under UV illumination, with superior reversibility, sub-ppb detection limit, and high selectivity to NO2. The UV-activated NO2-sensing property was attributed to the hierarchical mesostructure and effective photogenerated carrier separation of Ti3C2Tx MXene, suggesting the promising application of MXene-metal oxide hybrids for high-performance UV-activated NO2 sensors at ambient temperature.

The ZnO nanosheets showed enhanced sensing performance compared to commercial ZnO nanoparticles, mainly attributed to their surface defects, grain boundaries, and unique structural advantage.

Summary: In this study, nitrogen-functionalized heterophase TiO2 homojunctions (N-MXene) derived from MXene Ti3C2Tx were prepared and utilized as a sensing layer to detect trace NH3 gas at room temperature. The sensors exhibited improved detection limits and performance compared to existing MXene-involved reports, showing strong responses, sufficient recovery, and fast response/recovery speeds under humid conditions. The incorporation of nitrogen doping and TiO2 homojunctions played a key role in enhancing the performance of the sensors.

Enhanced NO2 gas-sensing performance of 2D Ti3C2/TiO2 nanocomposites by in-situ formation of Schottky barrier

This work provides a simple method to enhance the gas-sensing performance of MXene materials in practical applications.

The surface OVs of BiOBr provide ideal sites for the inclusion of hydroxyl ions, leading to the formation of Bi-III-OH species that act as active sites for PDS activation. This work offers a novel perspective for the activation of peroxides by defective materials without additional energy supply or aqueous transition metal ions.

The excellent NO2 sensing properties are attributed to the high surface area, abundance of edges and defects, and the formation of MXene/ZnO p-n heterojunction.

High-Performance Reticular Porous Perovskite Coating with Wide-Spectrum Absorption for Photothermal Conversion
