Measurement of thermal diffusivity of ethanol from (293 to 564) K and up to 10 MPa in vicinity of the critical point

Junshuai Chen et al.

Summary: The study determined the thermal diffusivity of ethanol using the dynamic light scattering method, showing that thermal diffusivity is influenced by temperature and pressure, and compared the experimental data with calculated values from thermal conductivity, yielding a small difference between the two.

Photothermal lens spectrometry: Experimental optimization and direct quantification of permanganate in water

Riadh Hannachi

Summary: The thermal lensing spectrometry (TLS) method was optimized and applied for the quantification of trace permanganate in water, with lower detection and quantification limits achieved. Experimental results showed that the concentration of permanganate measured by TLS is more accurate compared to conventional absorption spectrometry, and close to the detection limit achieved by indirect spectrometric methods.
