Synthesis and biological evaluation of peripherally tetra-({6-[3-(dimethylamino)phenoxy]hexyl}oxy) substituted water-soluble phthalocyanines as cholinesterases inhibitors

Summary: In this study, water-soluble metallophthalocyanines were synthesized and their inhibitory properties on cholinesterases were investigated. The compounds showed significant inhibitory effects on cholinesterases, with DM-C6-MnQ being the strongest inhibitor.

Summary: The newly designed 4-(3,4,5-trimethoxybenzyloxy)phenoxy)phthalonitrile and zinc phthalocyanine compounds were synthesized and investigated for their fluorescence, degradation, aggregation, antioxidant, DNA cleavage, and antimicrobial properties. The compounds showed potential for photophysical applications in different solvents and exhibited good antioxidant and DNA cleavage activities, with compound 5 standing out in DPPH radical formation inhibition and compound 4 showing strong ferrous ion chelating activity.

Biological properties of hexadeca-substituted metal phthalocyanines bearing different functional groups

Summary: Through the synthesis of new phthalocyanines with different substituents, their biological properties were studied, showing high antioxidant, antimicrobial, and DNA cleavage activities, with lutetium phthalocyanine exhibiting the highest antioxidant activity. The compounds showed excellent biofilm inhibition activities, especially under light irradiation.

Summary: In this study, two novel water-soluble zinc(II) phthalocyanines were synthesized and studied for their potential applications in photodynamic therapy. The interaction between these compounds and BSA or ct-DNA was investigated, with differences in binding constants observed between the two compounds. Thermal denaturation and viscosity studies indicated a non-intercalative mode of binding to ct-DNA for both compounds.
