Halloysite nanotubes filled with MgO for paper reinforcement and deacidification

Summary: A novel material using MgO filled halloysite nanotubes has been developed for deacidification and protection of paper. The composite material effectively neutralizes the acidic degradation of paper, improves tensile strength, delays aging, and maintains the mechanical and visual properties of paper during the consolidation process.

Influence of montmorillonite/carbon nanotube hybrid nanofillers on the properties of poly(lactic acid)

Summary: In this study, a hybrid nanofiller of Mt and MWCNT was successfully prepared and incorporated into PLA matrix to improve the material properties. Physicochemical studies and structural analyzes revealed strong hybrid-polymer interaction and synergy between nanoclay and carbon nanotubes. Thermal characterizations and mechanical properties testing demonstrated that the Mt/MWCNT hybrid nanofillers effectively restricted the motion of PLA segments and enhanced the mechanical performance of the polymer matrix.
