Aminated silicon dioxide enriching iron-containing polyoxometalate catalyst confined in CdS for efficient H2 evolution

Summary: In this study, a catalyst assembly of p-SiO2-NH3-Fe11POM@CdS was constructed for efficient H-2 evolution. The hybrid catalyst consists of Fe11POM as the catalyst and p-SiO2-NH2@CdS as the light-harvesting material and Fe11POM enrichment center. The efficient H-2 evolution is achieved by electron transfer from p-SiO2-NH2@CdS to Fe11POM.

The sub-nanometer size of POM clusters ensured faster interfacial charge transfer kinetics.

Photocatalytic degradation of polyethylene plastics by NiAl2O4 spinels-synthesis and characterization

Especially, the use of polyethylene bags in food storage has had a significant impact on the environment, highlighting the need to control the degradation of plastics in the environment. Among POMs, the Keggin-type polyoxometalate [PMo10V2O40](5-) with Na+ and H+ counter cations has been studied as a cathode material, showing better cycling stability and capacity retention with a specific discharge capacity of 123 mA h g(-1) at 0.1C rate at room temperature.
