Supplier-remanufacturing and manufacturer-remanufacturing in a closed-loop supply chain with remanufacturing cost disruption

Yanting Huang et al.

Summary: This paper examines the impact of remanufacturing cost disruption on supplier-remanufacturing and manufacturer-remanufacturing modes in a closed-loop supply chain. The study compares equilibrium strategies and profits of each mode, and analyzes the effects of disruption on remanufacturing. The findings reveal that both modes have similar robustness, and in manufacturer-remanufacturing mode, the manufacturer prefers to increase acquisition price and engage in more remanufacturing when faced with negative disruption. In supplier-remanufacturing mode, the supplier may sacrifice profits from new components to maximize remanufacturing profits if the negative disruption is significant.

Summary: Policy makers, managers, and academic researchers are increasingly concerned about the role of social media in spreading "Fake News". While research has focused on the implications of fake news for political communication, there is less focus on its impact on marketing and consumers. Understanding of fake news through a consumer lens is lacking, and an interdisciplinary systematic review of relevant literature identifies five themes explaining the phenomenon. A theoretical framework proposing relationships between themes and research propositions is suggested to guide future research in this area.
